A slow leak around a tankless water heater drain connection is easy to ignore. It does not look like much at first. But that steady drip finds its way across the floor, into corners, and over time it causes real damage.

A homeowner in Bayview Village called us after noticing moisture around the base of their unit. We took a look and found the drain connection had failed. The plastic fitting at the drain outlet had cracked and was no longer sealing properly. It needed to come out completely.

We removed the failed fitting and ran new drain piping from the unit to the floor drain. Clean, secure, properly supported. The connection is solid now and draining the way it should. No more moisture creeping across the mechanical room floor.

Drain connections on tankless units take wear over time. When the material breaks down, the leak starts small and stays small just long enough to be overlooked. Catching it early made this a straightforward fix. A bit longer and there could have been water damage to deal with on top of the plumbing repair.

We ran a drain snake through the line to break up the blockage and clear everything out. It is a straightforward fix, but it makes a real difference. Both sides of the sink were flowing properly once we finished. No leaks at the connections, everything left clean and tidy.
